Loving A Prince Charming

Title: Loving A Prince Charming
Author(s): Danielle Monsch
Release Date:
Publisher: Romantic Geek Publishing

Honor and Integrity were more than words to Seth - they were the values he lived his life by. As Prince of a large kingdom, putting duty before desire was vital for the prosperity and wellness of his people. If sometimes he looked at Kira – best friend since childhood and his personal guard – and regretted his betrothal to the Princess of a neighboring kingdom, well, that was the price he had to pay for his people’s happiness.

Even if that Princess was cursed and given the nickname Sleeping Beauty.

Seth discovers the way to end the curse and, against his father’s wishes, sets off on a perilous journey to free her with Kira by his side. But Kira represents a different type of danger… Only love can break the curse, but how can Seth keep his promise to protect Sleeping Beauty when every moment with Kira makes his heart damn duty and demand its desire?

My Thoughts: A quick read, good for what it was. A bit of romance, a bit of fairy tale, nothing terrible.

Sexy Level: 2, Basically only one seamy scene, the rest was story telling.
Characters: 3, I didn't hate them, but there was no real connection to them. As this was more story than smut I was hoping to connect a bit more.
Story: 3, Another Sleeping Beauty story... Nothing wrong with it, but I would have liked a bit more thought to it. (I did like the twist ending!)
Overall: 3, There could have been so much more to this, and I would have liked to read a longer version that was not so rushed.

Beauty and the Wolf

Title: Beauty and the Wolf
Author(s): Marina Myles
Release Date: June 21, 2013
Publisher: Kensington Books

Isabella Farrington’s marriage was hasty. For all her new husband’s riches, Lord Draven Winthrop is whispered about, avoided, and feared. Yet Isabella is drawn to Draven’s dark good looks, his strength, the charm he can turn on as easily as she can blink. The impoverished daughter of an Egyptologist, she knows there are rumors about her, too, and the amulet she wears. Nothing more than superstitious babble…
But when Isabella returns to Draven’s remote coastal manor, she senses there is something more at work in the grim gardens of Thorncliff Towers than superstition. Draven is passionate and seductive, but he has a brutal, uncontrolled side too, and a history of secrets. To live in peace she must discover the reasons behind a gypsy curse and a mother’s scorn. Especially when she learns Draven believes his sweet young bride is doomed to a fate even darker than his own…
My Thoughts: This was everything I was looking for! A well thought out plot, passionate scenes, and they flowed together perfectly. It was not "Here is your sexy times" and here is some half backed plot. No! It was seamless in how it was written.

Sexy Level: 4.5 um.... I don't know how to explain how amazing some of these scenes were written. It was just wonderful writing.

Characters: 5 Draven was dark, mysterious, and so sexy. The perfect sort of man with imperfections. Isabella was so beautiful and lovely. And the supporting characters were all well thought out, and relevent to where the story was going.

Story: 4.5 Who doesn't love a beauty and the beast type story. I have never not liked them so this was right up my alley.

Overall: 4.5 By far the best I have read so far for this blog. It wasn't just one thing or another, it was the perfect mix of literature and romance.

My Thoughts: This was a quick and sometimes sexy read. overall a fun story, though the original meeting of the characters was weird. I overall enjoyed this one!

Sexy Level: 3, there was only so many times I could handle Jordan appreciating a great rack.

Characters: 4, I liked them both as individuals so they were adorable together.

Story: 4, besides the official meeting I loved the evolution of them.

Overall: 4!

Confessions of a Chalet Girl

Title: Confessions of a Chalet Girl
Author(s): Lorraine Willson
Release Date: June 27, 2013
Publisher: HarperCollins UK, HarperImpulse

Set in the exclusive Swiss ski resort of Verbier, the winter playground of the rich and famous, Confessions of a Chalet Girl is a fun and flirty contemporary romance novella from the fabulous Lorraine Wilson.

The slopes seriously start to hear up when chalet girl Holly is propositioned by her sexy new boss!

My Thoughts:

A short read, only seven chapters in length, made me feel like it would be either smut without plot, or just awful. But it was neither of these things. The few scenes of smut presented were good, not as racy as some other reads but what I expect when reading a romance of this genre. What bugged me about this read was not lac of plot either. Both characters had different lives and meet up for some great sexy times. What bugged me is I just did not like either character that much, they just were not likeable to me. Drama is good, but with both having as much drama and in such a short novel.... It could have been worked out better if it were longer.

Sexy Level: I give it a 3, I would have liked to see it in the context of a longer story.

Characters: 2. Not my favorite, again if it were longer I might have liked Holly and Scott. I felt I did not know enough about them except that they were attracted to each other.

Story: 2. Could have used more to it. This seems like the skeleton of a great story, not the actual story. I would have liked to see more to it.

Overall: This book gets a 2.
